Bolden is a film based on the life of cornetist Buddy Bolden (1877–1931). One of the seminal figures in jazz history, Bolden left no surviving recordings, having been committed in 1907 at age 30 to the Louisiana State Insane Asylum, where he spent the rest of his life after a diagnosis of acute alcoholic psychosis.

Jonah Anthony Bolden (born 2 January 1996) is an Australian professional basketball player for the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He started his professional career with FMP in Serbia, where he was named the ABA League Top Prospect in 2017. He was selected by the 76ers in the second round of the 2017 NBA draft with the 36th overall pick.
